If you like travel logs, Motortrend has a good one going now called Tokyo to L.A. - The Hard Way - In a Suzuki Kizashi. They picked up a Kisashi in Tokyo and drove 3200 miles through Russia accompanied by two Equators as support vehicles. They just reached the US yesterday. The Equators performed superbly as expected.

The blog says:
"The Equator trucks never missed a beat, despite being thrashed by Fred Williams of Petersen's 4-Wheel and Offroad. He's got a reputation for breaking stuff, but all he could manage was a line leak to the power steering cooler that necessitated regular checks and fill-ups during the homestretch. The lead Equator only suffered one punctured tire.
Stay tuned for more updates and the complete story in the January issue of 4W&O, and/or visit MotorTrend.com, Motorcyclistonline.com or Suzuki's site covering the trip to read more."

I just got back from a vacation with my Equator. We traveled from South Jersey to the Outer Banks of NC. The ride was uneventful except for the problem with the AC that I mentioned before. Even though there is a dial to control the AC it does not do anything. We ended up turning the fan down to the first position, closing the outboard vents and stuffing napkins over the center vents. It felt less like an ice box in the cab. This in 90 degree weather.

For the whole trip I averaged 21.38 mph, more that I thought I would for the V6 4X4.

I really was looking forward to driving on the beach in the Outer Banks. (South Jersey is still of tourists and it will be another month before we can drive on the beaches. I've driven several cars and trucks in sand over the years and I can say that the Equator does it easily. With 18 pounds pressure in the tires it floats over the sand. Following are 2 pictures of my truck and the famous Corolla Horses. As you can see, even with 18 pounds there is still plenty of ground clearance to follow the ruts.
If I get on it hard to pull a hill or pass it can take 10 to 20 mph to switch gears.
The first time I took it to the dealership they blamed it on my CAI and TBS.
I have an appt monday to have them look at it again.
We will see what they say this time.
